Riskful Play
About us
Riskful Play is a knowledge organization that works with children’s play, movement, and risk, with a particular focus on public play environments such as schoolyards and preschool outdoor areas.
We strengthen municipalities and the education sector’s competence in risk-related issues through training and long-term support in risk management, where children’s health, development, and right to play are a natural part of the assessment.
Our work is aimed at organisations that want to move beyond a one-sided safety perspective and instead use balanced risk assessments, where children’s need for challenge and movement is weighed together with adults’ responsibility.
At Riskful Play you will find both training and practical resources to support day-to-day work. Our materials are designed to be useful in real settings and to build shared understanding, more confident decisions, and more developmentally rich play environments.

Riskful Play's Building Blocks
Many activities want to create more movement and more varied play, but the surface is often the same. This requires materials that open up more possibilities. Construction play helps you get more out of the surfaces you already have. The children themselves build paths, balance paths, constructions and play environments that invite activity, interaction and exploration. The result is an environment where more children find their way into the game and where the same space can be used in many different ways during the day. A PEDAGOGICAL TOOL It is a pedagogical tool for activities that want to give children more space to move, try out their own ideas and develop together with others. When children have access to loose parts that they can combine and change themselves, we create the conditions for: • motor skills and balance • creativity and problem solving • cooperation and communication • taking the initiative and trusting their own abilities This makes construction play a strong support in working with children's movement, participation and development. FINE MATERIALS We have chosen materials that can withstand everyday wear and tear and are also a better choice for the environment: local wood from oaks around Lake Vättern and non-toxic boxes made of recycled plastic that can be recycled again. ORDER THE BUILDING TOY WITH A FAIR OFFER Take advantage of the fair offer. Email us at organisation@riskfulplay.se or come by us at stand L:08 at the SETT Fair on April 14-15.

01 On-Demand: Risky Play & Physical Literacy in Pre-Schools
A basic training for work teams that want to strengthen their common approach in line with the preschool curriculum. Children need to move, try, challenge themselves and develop confidence in their own abilities. At the same time, questions often arise in everyday life: What do children need to try? When do we say stop? How do we create space for play, movement and challenge in a safe and professional way? This training gives the work team knowledge, reflection and support in understanding risky play as part of children's development, learning and movement understanding in preschool. THE TRAINING GIVES YOU: • an introduction to children's development of movement understanding and how it can be put into practice • understanding of why children need challenges and how risky play can support motor skills, body image, self-confidence and well-being • knowledge of risky play as part of the mission and the connection between research, practice and the preschool's mission • confidence in communicating with colleagues, managers and guardians about the preschool's approach to play, movement and risk • support in creating better conditions for children to try, challenge themselves and move in varied ways THIS INCLUDES • pre-recorded lecture (approx. 60 min) • material for reflection and structure for collegial discussions • access to the lecture for 45 days, you keep the material
