Linnea at Ullvi skola improves her reading comprehension with VR technology – from Siljan News

n Linda Axelsson’s latest article in Siljan News, teacher Ulrica Elisson Grane (owner of the blog Ullis skolsida and the Instagram account @ullisskolsida) and her student Linnea Kers talk about how Imvi’s training has helped them.

Linnea is in Year 6 and has been training with Imvi during school hours since January this year. She has suspected dyslexia and previously struggled with concentration — something that has improved significantly after the training with Imvi. Happily, she says that “reading has become much better and faster,” and that the training has helped her enormously across all subjects. The effects of the training were also reflected in her results on the national tests.

Another student at Ullvi School also participated in the training during the spring. Ulrica explains that both that student and Linnea made major improvements on the test used to measure reading speed in Year 6. The benchmark for a sixth-grader is 95 words per minute, and Linnea is now reading at over 100 words per minute.

Linnea says that it is now much easier to keep up with reading comprehension tests. She is also able to read subtitles when watching films and TV programmes. Unfortunately, the increased reading speed also means that she finishes her manga much faster — something she jokingly points out.

One of the biggest advantages of Imvi’s training, according to Linnea, is that it is not demanding at all. She and her classmate trained by watching programmes from Binogi, UR Play, and SVT Play. Their favourites are Lilla Aktuellt and Geografens Testamente.
