Sagoväsen
About us
Sagoväsen creates professionally narrated audio stories and complementary materials for preschool-aged children. Through storytelling, gentle movement sessions, wake-up activities, guided rest and creative elements, Sagoväsen supports educators in everyday preschool routines.
The content is designed to be easy to use during moments such as rest time, group gatherings, transitions and energy shifts throughout the day. Some stories are calming and grounding, while others are playful and movement-based, encouraging both imagination and physical activity.
Sagoväsen is rooted in classic fairy tales and Nordic as well as international folk tales, supporting language development, cultural heritage and emotional understanding through storytelling. The stories invite children to explore themes such as courage, friendship, empathy and inner strength in an age-appropriate way.
Sagoväsen is created and narrated by Josefina “Fina” Hylén, a professional voice actor with nearly two decades of experience in animation, television and audiobooks. The project combines high-quality narration with a deep understanding of preschool practice.
Sagoväsen offers themed monthly preschool packages with audio stories and supporting materials, available exclusively for subscribing preschools via The Tale Tree.

Audio stories for preschool

Pedagogic material and guidance for Sagoväsen's audio stories
The pedagogical material is designed to provide preschool educators with clear, flexible, and easy-to-use support for working with Sagoväsen, aligned with the Swedish preschool curriculum (Lpfö 18, rev. 2025). The material is adapted to real preschool routines and includes planning support, reflection prompts, discussion cards, coloring pages, and simple activities that allow children to process the stories through conversation, movement, and creative expression. The content supports children’s language development, imagination, social interaction, participation, and their ability to express thoughts, feelings, and experiences in different ways. The guidance supports educators in integrating the stories into various parts of the day—such as rest time, group gatherings, transitions, and shifts in energy—and in adapting the work to the needs, interests, and daily conditions of the group. The material is designed to support continuity, recognition, and progression over time. The focus is on: – a sense of safety, structure, and predictability – children’s participation, imagination, and expression – processing through dialogue, movement, and creative activities – professional support for the educator’s leadership and pedagogical choices The material is intended as a complement to Sagoväsen’s audio stories and gives educators the flexibility to choose how much or how little support is needed in the moment, based on the context and goals of their practice.
