About us

Grönska’s growing system is a unique platform for schools that combines pedagogy with sustainable food production. Through a smart hydroponic growing unit, students get the opportunity to explore biology, sustainability, technology and innovation in a hands-on way – while the school kitchen can harvest fresh, climate-friendly produce all year round.

Students can pollinate, experiment with light and nutrients, test hypotheses and follow the journey from seed to harvest in just three weeks. Learning becomes tangible – it smells like basil, tastes like edible flowers and sparks curiosity about how food can be produced in the future.

The growing process often becomes a creative activity that boosts curiosity, problem-solving and gives students an accessible way into complex questions. Many become inspired to try more greens, start growing at home or learn more about food production. At the same time, the school becomes a role model for sustainable thinking, where students get to experience that they can truly make a difference.
