Today’s young people are tomorrow’s employees and entrepreneurs. How they think about their future choices is of course governed by various things; including their own interests and what they know about the business world.
There are, for example, around 9,000 professions to choose from today, but many can only name a fraction. Some professions are on the verge of becoming a shortage profession, while others haven’t even been “invented” yet.
With increased knowledge about possible future paths, young people can make more informed choices. Collaboration between school and industry can inspire students to become entrepreneurs, just as companies in turn through collaboration can raise the status of specific industries and secure future generational changes.
Allowing the needs of companies to be seen in the education can also create more motivation among students and increase the quality of the education, as the content has the opportunity to respond to the needs. Understanding the socio-economic cycle as well as the conditions and importance of business often makes it easier when we have to interpret our world around us.
