eTwinning is part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, which provides opportunities for schools to collaborate digitally in international partnerships. Hundreds of thousands of teachers from 44 countries have joined the programme, which started in 2005.
Collaborate with schools in other countries
eTwinning offers Europe’s teachers an online network, where you can find one or more partners and then carry out pedagogical collaborations – both with schools in other countries and in Sweden.
Through the network, your school gets the opportunity to collaborate digitally in international partnerships. You can collaborate with other countries, with one or more partners, and then carry out pedagogical collaborations. At the same time, the digital way of working becomes a natural part of your teaching. By using digital technology to communicate, compare, share and build knowledge, students also get the opportunity to learn in interaction with their peers in Europe.
One of the biggest advantages of the eTwinning programme is that the individual teacher can easily act in the programme. Participate in online courses, be a member of educational discussion groups – or run digital collaborations as part of teaching, where students also interact across borders.
But eTwinning can also be used as part of school development, for example by embedding the program in the school’s business plan and/or IT strategy.
