Many children who struggle with reading are diagnosed as dyslexia – but in some cases it is actually a vision problem that can be corrected. In a recently published article, Eva Johannesson at SvD highlights how training eye coordination can improve both reading speed and focus.

Key insights from the article:
🔹 Vision problems are overrepresented in people with dyslexia. Research shows that a significant proportion of children with reading difficulties actually have undetected vision problems.

🔹 A simple vision test can sometimes replace a comprehensive dyslexia assessment. Early identification of vision-related problems can save both time and resources for schools and families.

🔹 VR training for eye coordination can significantly increase reading speed. In one case, a student increased his reading speed by a whopping 113% after structured training!

🔹 Schools need to get better at identifying vision-related reading difficulties early. With the right tools, more children can get the help they need right from the start.

At Imvi, we work to ensure that more children have the opportunity to read faster and more focused through vision training. Many thanks to Svenska Dagbladet for helping to spread knowledge about this important topic!
