What do we need to consider when planning the interior spaces for school buildings?

Lippman will present ideas for carefully crafting learning spaces that support students’ education in the strongest way possible. This presentation will examine how to redesign existing and new spaces to rejuvenate, encourage and enhance learning possibilities. Lippman will connect learning theories with practice and showcase examples how classrooms may be reimagined to support explicit teaching, cooperative learning, and independent work so that teachers and students can flourish academically and socially.
The objective for this presentation are:
• Examine the concept of innovative learning environments.
• Connect contemporary learning theories with design and the practice of pedagogy in the learning environment.
• Showcase how furniture may be used to create a variety of activity settings in classrooms to support the different ways that the student acquires knowledge.
